MegaFon Opens 5G-Like Speeds to All Subscribers
The option can be activated through the operator’s website or mobile app.
MegaFon has made a range of tariff options available that allow subscribers to access mobile internet speeds associated with 5G. The faster speeds are available even on devices that do not support the new standard and in locations where the network has not yet been upgraded.
With the basic Mega5G option, subscribers get mobile internet speeds up to 1.6 times faster. The option can be activated through the operator’s website or mobile app.
“The rollout of fifth-generation connectivity in Russia will take place gradually and will depend largely on operators’ technological readiness and the number of devices available that support the new standard. It is important to us that as many customers as possible can experience the benefits of higher speeds now, including, for example, Apple device owners. The Mega5G options complement the rollout of the fifth-generation network and make its capabilities available to every subscriber,” said Dmitry Rudskikh, MegaFon’s chief commercial officer.
