Testing of the latest self-driving utility vehicles will begin on the streets of St. Petersburg in the coming days. Developed by Kognitiv Pilot, the vehicles are compact tractors weighing up to one metric ton. They are equipped with a sensor suite that includes four cameras, two LiDAR units, and two radar sensors. The tractors are designed to operate even without satellite communications or mobile internet connectivity.

According to available information, a large-scale demonstration of the robotic vehicles' ability to clean public transport stops and city tram tracks is scheduled for July.

The planned deployment of the self-driving utility vehicles on the streets of St. Petersburg was first announced in April at the International Transport and Logistics Forum. Technical specifications for the mini tractors and their expected capabilities were also disclosed at the event.
