Novosibirsk Company Develops Smart Windows Controlled by Smartphone

The remotely operated windows can also heat indoor spaces.

Residents of Novosibirsk Oblast—and eventually other parts of Russia—will be able to control the windows in their homes directly from a smartphone. A new product developed by the company Sibirskii Komfort allows windows not only to be heated but also to function as an additional source of indoor warmth. The project was unveiled at the international exhibition Sibirskaia stroitelnaia nedelia (Siberian Construction Week), according to reporting by Komsomolskaya Pravda.

Company representative Ekaterina Kosheleva said the technology was designed in response to growing global demand for comfort and energy efficiency in housing. The system combines climate control, safety, and ease of use. The smart windows are fully protected against moisture and meet all reliability standards, she added.

More Natural Light

Demand for such solutions is growing, the company says. Consumers are increasingly opting for panoramic window designs to maximize natural light, and the new technology is positioned as a direct response to that trend.

Earlier, it was reported that researchers at the Artificial Intelligence Institute of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology had introduced an innovative platform capable of forecasting extreme weather events with high spatial resolution—down to individual courtyards and even single buildings.
