Yandex Cloud Patents Multi-Region Cloud Management Architecture
The new design allows companies to meet local data regulations across jurisdictions while simplifying administration.
Yandex Cloud has patented a technology that connects cloud platforms deployed across different regions. Previously, companies had to choose between a unified setup—easier to manage but less secure—or fully isolated regional clouds, which offered stronger protection but were harder to administer. The new multi-region architecture combines both approaches: regions remain independent, while users can switch between them seamlessly and still comply with local data storage requirements.
“One of our priorities is ensuring the
security of user data under any conditions. We incorporated all our reliability
requirements and developed a new multi-region architecture. This approach will
help companies manage regional resources more efficiently while maintaining
regional independence,” said Evgeny Sidorov, director of information security
at Yandex Cloud.
