Children’s University to Open Free Classes for School Students in Norilsk
The free Children’s University educational program for employees’ children at Nornickel Sputnik set to launch in Norilsk in October.
Classes will be taught remotely by instructors from Gagarin Saratov State Technical University, allowing children of rotational workers in other cities to join as well.
The program is designed for two age groups. Students ages 10 to 12 will learn digital and design skills, work with artificial intelligence, and create websites and graphics. Those ages 13 to 17 will study AI, web development, game design and graphics in greater depth. This year, English, Spanish and French have also been added to the curriculum.
The project has been running in Saratov for four years, teaching more than 300 school students each year, many of whom go on to win prizes in competitions. Its goal is to teach children not just to consume content but to create it.
