Sales of Russian software have exceeded 5 trillion rubles (about $55 billion), Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at the Digital Qazaqstan 2026 forum. Over the past six years, the market has expanded more than fourfold. The IT sector’s contribution to GDP has reached 2.7%, while the industrial software segment grew to 50 billion rubles (about $550 million) in 2025. Mishustin said the growth reflects coordinated efforts by the state and business, as well as a stronger talent base.

Digital Industry of the Future

“We have learned to develop not only basic system applications but also highly complex software needed to manage production processes, design engineering systems, advanced computer-aided design tools, product lifecycle management, and the stable operation of critical infrastructure,” Mishustin said.

Such solutions, he added, should also serve as a foundation for digital transformation across the economies of the Eurasian Economic Union. Mishustin emphasized that Russia supports cooperation with all partners committed to building an independent and resilient digital industry capable of withstanding external challenges.
