Write Your Own Hit: Zvuk Lets You Create Music Instead of Just Streaming It
Russian music streaming platform Zvuk has introduced Singl, an AI-powered composer that lets users create original songs and share them with friends.
Ever wanted to write your own single? Now almost anyone can, thanks to the AI composer Singl. Using a text prompt in either Russian or English, the system generates the music, lyrics, song title, and even cover art. Finished tracks can be saved to a personal library, added to playlists, or shared directly with other users.
A Song for a Friend
The service makes it easy to create music for specific occasions, whether it is a love song, a birthday greeting, or a song for a friend. Users simply describe the kind of composition they want by specifying details such as mood, genre, or style. The more precise the prompt, the more likely the result will match the creator's expectations.
Singl is the first Russian solution of its kind to be integrated directly into a music streaming platform. Instead of serving only as a place to consume content, Zvuk now also lets users create it. In effect, listeners become songwriters whose original tracks can immediately be shared with an audience on the same platform.
There is one important limitation, however. While the AI composer is designed to help people explore their musical creativity, the songs it produces are intended exclusively for personal, noncommercial use and cannot currently be monetized.
From Standalone AI Tools to a Creative Production Ecosystem
The project reflects the rapid development of Russian multimodal generative AI technologies capable of working with text, music, and images simultaneously. By introducing Singl, Zvuk is positioning itself to compete not only with other streaming services but also with international AI music generators.
International platforms began offering AI-generated songs with vocals and instrumental accompaniment from short text prompts in 2023. That same year, YouTube introduced Dream Track for Shorts and Music AI, tools designed to generate soundtracks for short-form video content.
In 2024, SymFormer, a Russian neural network for music generation developed by SberDevices, was introduced. It was designed primarily as a technology model rather than as a consumer-facing service integrated into a streaming platform. Russian developers later incorporated SymFormer into Kandinsky 4.0 to automate soundtrack generation for videos. That work demonstrated the growing potential of combining multiple generative AI models within a unified creative production workflow.
Today, AI music generation has become part of a broader ecosystem of creative tools used by bloggers, musicians, video creators, and advertising professionals. Russia's generative AI market is also expanding rapidly. By the end of 2025, it was valued at 58 billion rubles (approximately $740 million), up from 13 billion rubles (approximately $165 million) a year earlier. The launch of Singl continues the broader trend of embedding generative AI capabilities into familiar consumer digital products.
The Next Step: Commercialization
Experts note that the underlying technology has applications well beyond personal entertainment. It can be used to create personalized musical greetings and gifts, automatically generate music for short videos, podcasts, and user-generated content, build customized playlists featuring unique tracks, and produce background music for games and advertising.
Looking ahead, Zvuk could expand the service with lyric editing, selectable vocal styles and instruments, song structure editing, collaborative songwriting, and music generation synchronized with video. Because the platform is already focused on personalization, Singl is also likely to become more individualized over time. For example, it could eventually generate original songs based on the listening habits and musical preferences of each user.
For now, Singl is positioned purely as a creative tool rather than a platform for commercial music production. Even so, the technology has clear commercial potential that could be unlocked once practical licensing frameworks emerge for AI-generated works. Allowing creators to use AI-generated tracks in advertising, videos, games, and podcasts would transform Singl from a personal creativity tool into a professional platform for the creative economy.
