The experimental medical device is called i-Pavlovian Cognitive.

Scientists at the Pavlov Institute of Physiology of the Russian Academy of Sciences have developed an experimental prototype of a medical device for treating depression and PTSD using virtual reality. It is called i-Pavlovian Cognitive. The information was announced at a meeting of the project committee for the national New Health Preservation Technologies project, chaired by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova.
According to the technology's creators, the patient is immersed in a digital environment to accelerate the recovery of cognitive functions. During sessions, the patient is engaged in purposeful activity, which helps train attention, memory, and other skills related to brain function.
In the future, the new device could become an additional rehabilitation tool. Upon completion of the project in 2028, the medical device is planned to be registered and brought to market.
