Administration of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug and MTS Sign Cooperation Agreement
The agreement is aimed at providing residents of remote areas with reliable communications services.

The administration of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug and MTS have signed a cooperation agreement. A key focus of the partnership will be the large-scale modernization of telecommunications infrastructure. The effort is intended to provide residents of remote areas with high-quality mobile communications services.
“MTS is ready to offer the region its
resources and expertise to support key regional and federal programs related to
digitalization. In the conditions of life in the Far North, stable access to
voice communications and digital services is especially important. That is why
the company is already investing efforts in developing telecommunications
infrastructure in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug,” said Grigory Bedrin, MTS
director for the Arkhangelsk Region and the Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
The operator has been upgrading its technological capabilities in the region for many years. In particular, the company built a backbone fiber-optic communications line stretching more than 1,250 kilometers (about 777 miles) along the Ukhta–Naryan-Mar route.
