Pyatigorsk State University is launching a new academic programme for students from China. The university actively cooperates with Liaoning Polytechnic University. Students will study applied informatics, one of the core disciplines for IT specialists. Classes will be taught in Russian, English and Chinese. The programme was created at the request of the Chinese partners. Part of the coursework will take place online, while students will travel to Russia for the final year of study and to receive their diplomas.

A Joint University with China

The university also educates students from many other countries, including Africa, Asia and Latin America – more than 30 nations in total. Russian universities are actively working with Chinese partners on technologies such as artificial intelligence and optoelectronics. Russia and China also operate a joint university – the MSU-PPI University in Shenzhen, where around 5,000 students from different countries are currently enrolled.
