Digital Microscope Slides and Herbarium Specimens Added to Biohub Learning Platform
The Biohub educational platform has expanded with a Botany section featuring digital microscope slides and herbarium specimens.
The new section was developed by specialists at Samara State Medical University (SamSMU) in collaboration with the team behind Pirogov Interactive Anatomy.
The platform is designed for biology classes in grades 5–9, advanced study, and extracurricular learning. The new materials will help teachers explain key concepts, compare plant structures, assign practical exercises, and test students’ knowledge.
The university’s Department of General and Molecular Biology and its Molecular Biology Research and Training Laboratory prepared the scientific content. Staff from the Department of Pharmacognosy, Botany, and Fundamentals of Phytotherapy assembled the herbarium collection. The Pirogov Interactive Anatomy team developed the concept and digital components.
