Samara Region Unveils Autonomous Crop-Spraying Robot
The machine is designed to improve crop treatment quality while reducing chemical use.

Samara Region has unveiled a new autonomous crop-spraying robot designed to operate in orchards and vineyards. The system was presented at the Zhigulyovskiye Sady (Zhigulyovsk Orchards) Research Institute.
The self-propelled tracked vehicle performs its tasks with minimal human involvement. It navigates using GPS and LiDAR while also relying on a digital field map loaded into the system.
The technology's main advantages are safety and efficiency. A single operator using a tablet can supervise several robots simultaneously without entering areas where chemicals are being sprayed. The robot automatically controls the application of treatment solutions, reducing chemical consumption to the minimum required.
