A Christmas tree made of 184 LED screens has been installed at the skating rink of the Moskino film park in Russia’s capital. The structure consists of 11 tiers and reaches 12 meters in height and eight meters in width. The combined resolution of the screens is 3,840 by 1,920 pixels.

The displays generate light using LEDs, producing high-quality images and a broad spectrum of colors. Working in sync, the screens can show either static images or video content.

A Skating Rink on a Film Set

The skating rink with its high-tech Christmas tree has opened at the “Cathedral Square” set. The scenery resembles landmarks of the Moscow Kremlin – including the Archangel Cathedral, a fragment of the Ivan the Great Bell Tower and the Kremlin wall, the Taynitskaya Tower, the Terem Palace, and other structures. Visitors can skate among these “buildings” and then watch a film while enjoying hot tea and pastries.

It is also worth noting that this is the first skating rink in Europe to open on the grounds of an active film set.

An Interactive Matryoshka and a Digital Tree

Earlier, we reported that a digital matryoshka doll had appeared in Moscow’s Zaryadye Park, displaying real-time weather information. The interactive installation is equipped with its own network of sensors and a full-fledged weather station on its roof. It continuously transmits up-to-date data on temperature, humidity, wind, and precipitation.

The interactive matryoshka and the digital Christmas tree are vivid examples of how modern technologies are bringing public spaces to life, turning them into attractions for both residents and tourists.
