United Engine Corporation, part of Rostekh (Rostec), has introduced digital monitoring to track production timelines for gas turbine engine components. The rollout has reduced machine downtime by about one-third.

The digital system automatically collects, analyzes, and transmits equipment performance data from multiple facilities to a centralized hub, flagging drops in machine and workforce efficiency in real time. The project is built on the Russian platform Dispetcher.

“It has positioned the corporation as a leader in industrial IoT development in Russia. In practice, we are seeing a 10% to 30% reduction in unplanned downtime across different production stages, along with higher equipment utilization. This translates into significant cost savings. Today, around 2,500 units of equipment across all major UEC sites are connected to the system. We plan to add roughly another 1,000 machines from the category of critical equipment,” said Vyacheslav Khristolyubov, director for digital transformation at UEC.

Shift Toward Adaptive Industrial Management

The Dispetcher monitoring system tracks machine utilization and workload across all connected sites. This enables rapid response to emerging issues, better control of production throughput, predictive maintenance, and ongoing monitoring of both equipment condition and workforce performance.

The system also allows operators to open and close daily shift tasks directly through the Dispetcher interface on each machine. Employees can view task status in real time and respond quickly to changes.

In the future, the system is expected to provide recommendations for adjusting equipment parameters based on changing production conditions.
