Russia Develops Tsifroil System for End-to-End Oil Monitoring

The platform acts as a central hub connecting measurement systems and continuously collecting data

Oil is a strategic resource where accounting errors carry high costs. Roselektronika, part of the Rostec state corporation, has developed a solution designed to minimize these risks. The system, called Tsifroil, is a flow measurement computing platform for oil and petroleum products that connects all metering equipment and continuously collects data, according to EnergyLand.

Less Downtime, More Efficiency

According to Rostec, the system delivers economic benefits almost immediately. Improved measurement accuracy reduces financial losses and commercial risks, while also lowering penalties and disputes with partners and regulators. Automation replaces manual processes, reducing equipment downtime and freeing up staff for other tasks. Most importantly, the system supports management decisions based on real-time, high-precision data rather than averaged estimates.

The system is deployed across full-cycle operations, covering every stage from extraction to storage of finished products. At production sites and raw material processing units, it tracks crude oil and gas condensate. During transportation, it becomes a core component of metering units at trunk pipelines, dispatch stations, and oil loading and transfer points.

Tsifroil Across the Entire Value Chain

At refineries, Tsifroil tracks raw materials, intermediates, and finished products such as gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil, and lubricants. At storage facilities and tank farms, the system monitors product intake, storage, and shipment.

Earlier, Rosneft developed an advanced software and analytics platform to monitor pipeline integrity and reliability.
