The “Vzhik” Drone Is Set to Reach Russia’s Hard-to-Access Areas

The unmanned aircraft has successfully completed flight tests.

Students enrolled in the Wings of Rostec program have developed a low-cost unmanned drone dubbed “Vzhik,” designed to rapidly deliver cargo to hard-to-reach regions of Russia, the state corporation said.

“In the future, Vzhik could become part of a large-scale unmanned logistics network that ensures reliable connectivity between cities and remote territories. At this stage, the project is undergoing design refinements following flight tests,” the corporation explained.

About the Program

The Wings of Rostec program is run jointly by Baltic State Technical University Voenmekh and Rostec. The initiative trains designers and technologists specializing in aircraft engine development.

According to Voenmekh Rector Alexander Shashurin, the program admits 40 highly motivated students each year through a seamless professional pathway spanning school, university, and industry.

Even while still studying, students are tasked with solving real industrial challenges. Projects like Vzhik are the direct result of this hands-on experience.
