MegaFon has become the first Russian mobile operator to introduce a mobile router that supports network connectivity through eSIM technology.

Activation does not require a visit to a retail store. Users can provision an eSIM profile remotely by verifying their identity through Gosuslugi (public services portal). Once verification is complete, the required profile is downloaded to the router through a mobile app or web interface.

Developed jointly with engineers at Yota, the router has been optimized specifically for operation on Russian mobile networks. Unlike many uncertified alternatives, the device does not impose artificial limits on data transfer speeds.

It features a 4,000 mAh battery that provides up to eight hours of operation on a single charge. The router also supports physical SIM cards, allows up to 32 devices to connect simultaneously, and operates on both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi bands.
