Engineers at Rosseti Novosibirsk have completed a power grid modernization project in the Vengerovsky District of Russia's Novosibirsk Region. The upgrade introduced digital equipment designed to improve service reliability and reduce the impact of potential power outages.

The project included the installation of 11 short-circuit fault indicators, six intelligent disconnect switches, and seven data acquisition and transmission units.

A key element of the modernization was the installation of two remotely controlled reclosers. These devices allow grid operators to isolate only the damaged section of the network instead of shutting down an entire power line. The system can also automatically restore electricity to unaffected sections of the grid, helping confine outages to a much smaller area and reducing the number of customers affected by service interruptions.

All of the equipment installed as part of the project was manufactured by Russian companies.
