A researcher at Sibirskiy gosudarstvennyy universitet telekommunikatsiy i informatiki (Siberian State University of Telecommunications and Informatics) has developed a universal training board for teaching the Internet of Things, the university’s press service said.

The device allows students to skip time-consuming assembly and focus on programming and designing complex networked systems. The multi-component board supports a full workflow - from lab experiments to finished projects. It includes buttons with hardware pull-up resistors, a potentiometer, a sound signal generator, a light sensor, and standard I2C and 1-Wire interfaces. The components are labeled for ease of use and feature reinforced connectors and short-circuit protection.

For Schools and Universities

According to the developer, students receive a ready-to-use hardware platform and can immediately begin building algorithms and IoT device prototypes, such as smart irrigation systems or automated garage control. The platform also supports more advanced topics, including controller interaction and network data exchange.

The device can also be used in schools, as it adapts to different tasks and offers a high level of safety. Students at SibGUTI are already using it to prepare for project defenses.
