Russians to Pay With “Turbo-QR” Code
The new payment tool was unveiled by the National Payment Card System.

Russia is testing a new payment service, Dmitry Dubynin, head of the Natsionalnaya Sistema Platezhnykh Kart (National Payment Card System), said. Together with Gazprombank, the company has developed Turbo-QR, a faster payment method designed to significantly reduce transaction time.
According to the developers, the system skips the display of payment details during checkout.
Limit of Up to 3,000 Rubles
Customers must give consent for purchases within their bank’s mobile app. The service will be tested through March, after which a decision will be made on broader rollout.
Alexander Babkin, head of information security monitoring at Gazprombank, said the tool was built to meet the highest security standards. The primary task for engineers was to minimize risks when generating the QR code.
To use Turbo-QR, customers must specify the card from which payment details will be drawn and set a spending limit. For now, the limit will range from 1,000 to 3,000 rubles (approximately $12–$36).
