Azimut Upgrades Instrument Landing System at Moscow Domodedovo Airport
The upgrade is expected to improve the airport's operational capacity.
Azimut, a subsidiary of state-owned technology corporation Rostec, has completed the modernization of the ILS 2700 instrument landing system at Moscow Domodedovo Airport. The upgrade is designed to enhance flight safety while increasing operational efficiency at one of Russia's busiest airports.
The ILS 2700 helps aircraft land safely in adverse weather conditions. It transmits guidance information to the aircraft, including its distance from the runway, lateral alignment with the runway centerline, and vertical glide path during the approach.
According to the company, the ILS 2700 complies with international aviation safety standards. The system is also in operation at other Moscow airports, as well as airports in St. Petersburg, Sochi, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, and Abkhazia.
