Amur Region to Roll Out Satellite Monitoring Across All Farmland

Authorities in Russia's Amur Region plan to deploy satellite monitoring across all agricultural land in the region. The decision follows the completion of a pilot project.
The initial program covered several dozen agricultural sites. Satellite monitoring identified multiple cases in which farmland was not being used for its intended purpose, along with other violations. The technology will now be deployed in every municipality, enabling authorities to detect such issues more quickly.
Experts say satellite monitoring can also support a wide range of other agricultural tasks. These include assessing soil conditions, tracking vegetation development, and monitoring compliance with agronomic requirements. According to experts, the approach will help authorities respond more quickly to emerging problems and prevent the deterioration of agricultural land.
