Russian medtech company Lab4U has introduced Lab4Speak, described as the country’s first AI-powered medical translator. The system can translate specialized clinical terminology in real time.

The synchronous prompter transcribes and translates lectures into multiple languages, displaying text on a screen or on personal devices via QR code. Medical vocabulary recognition accuracy reaches 92 percent, translation accuracy stands at 95 percent, and latency is limited to 3 to 4 seconds. After each session, the system automatically generates a structured transcript and summary.

Accuracy, Adaptability and Reliability Controls

Developers trained the neural network on a large corpus of medical texts and speech data, enabling high-precision recognition and translation of complex terminology.

Among Lab4Speak’s key features is an integrated reliability control mechanism. To reduce the risk of AI hallucinations, the system flags the confidence level of translations and highlights unfamiliar terms.

The platform supports integration with multiple glossaries and terminology databases, allowing customization for different medical specializations. Users can connect to the cloud-based service through a link or QR code to receive real-time subtitles, voice output and translation.
