Cyber Range Moves to the Cloud, Letting Users Practice Defending Against Attacks From Home
Prospective Monitoring has unveiled AmpireCloud, a cloud-based service for hands-on cybersecurity training.

Users no longer need to wait for company-wide cyber exercises or enroll at a university with its own cyber range to practice defending against attacks.
The service is available to individuals online around the clock, although access is moderated: the developers review every application. Training follows a Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) format. The configuration tool includes 35 vulnerable nodes and 230 vulnerabilities, along with tools such as AM TIP, ViPNet IDS NS, and SecOnion. Users work with virtual machines and event logs, while attack scenarios are designed to mirror real-world incidents.
Ilya Shabanov, CEO of AM Live, announced the beta launch at the Ampire 360° conference. The service is currently free, but a paid subscription is planned after the beta period. Pricing has not yet been disclosed.
