Micromobility company Urent is actively retrofitting its rental e-scooters with TR10 IoT modules developed in-house. The new devices replace imported counterparts and offer improved performance across several key metrics.

The IoT module is a core component of every shared e-scooter. It enables the company to track each vehicle's location and collect real-time data on its operating condition.

The TR10 modules introduce several improvements over the previous generation used by the service. They are optimized for the characteristics of Russian mobile networks, providing more stable positioning. The devices also feature a more powerful microprocessor capable of handling current workloads while supporting future feature upgrades without requiring the entire module to be replaced.

The upgraded trackers have already been installed on scooters in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, and Yekaterinburg. Urent plans to equip its entire electric vehicle fleet with the new modules in the future.
