Humanoid Robot Joins MIPT Admissions Office for the First Time
The Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) has opened its 2026 admissions campaign with a new team member – a humanoid robot assistant that is supporting the university's admissions office for the first time.

The robot assists admissions staff with routine physical tasks. It navigates the campus, transports documents, rides elevators independently, and passes through access gates using an electronic pass. Its movements are designed to closely replicate human biomechanics. Equipped with lidar and computer vision, the robot can interpret its surroundings, gesture, and even dance. The physical AI algorithms powering the system were developed by programmers at MIPT's Laboratory of Neurobiomorphic Technologies. The admissions campaign will run through July 25, and prospective students can submit applications through the Gosuslugi (State Services portal). This year, the number of state-funded university places has increased to 1,117.
